Difficulties in recycling


Despite the multiple efforts in the textile and garment industry of minimizing the impact of non-recyclable yarns, currently, most of the garments on the market include elastane in their composition, which makes their recyclability difficult, causing that only 1%* of the garments to be recycled again.

Collections developed with yarns with natural stretch like Meryl Hydrogen can be collected back at the end of their useful life and thanks to the mechanical recycling create a new yarn again. This is a fully circular recycling technology: from yarn to garment and back to yarn.

Meryl Hydrogen


Meryl Hydrogen is the iconic yarn of Nylstar and has great natural stretch.

It has been developed as a high quality performance yarn with outstanding properties without the need for any topical chemical treatments to either yarn, fabric or garment.

Collect & Recycling Center


All Nylstar’s sorted garments are transported to our Collecting & Recycling Center for a strict classification by color and type of garment. Each customer will have their own space, where they will be able to see the process in streaming 24/7.

Brands should encourage their customer communities to return fully circular garments. This action will raise awareness for a cleaner planet and enhance community engagement. 

GRS Certification


Nylstar has been certified for yarns 100% recycled post-consumer by GRS. Also our Ecodye yarns have been included in this extended certification. Nylstar’s collecting and recycling center is open to receive all discarded yarn, fabric and worn garments to be processed and re-enter the production chain, contributing to create a CO2 positive production process.
