Trend Report: Protection
How garments are evolving to protect us from damp.Comfort - Ultra Absorbent - Absorption - Multiple Layers
In the ever-evolving world of textiles, protection textiles are setting new benchmarks for performance and innovation. This trend report delves into the latest advancements in comfort and ultra-absorbent materials, highlighting fabrics designed with multiple layers to enhance absorption and provide unparalleled protection. Discover how these cutting-edge textiles are reshaping the industry, offering both safety and comfort for diverse applications.
While protection aspects in garments have focused primarily on military and outdoor garments, there is a new dedication in the research and development of the protection needed for the everyday person who requires leakage protection, from babies to young girls, expectant mothers and the elderly. The unsustainable nature of disposable diapers and most feminine hygiene products is extensively documented, yet there is great room for improvement in developing eco friendly garments that do not force us to go back to the practices of our grandparents for these sensitive situations.

Protection - Multiple Layers - Comfort - Anti leaking - Anti microbial -
To create garments that have ultra-absorbant properties in these critical areas we loo to the terry technology which can add much protection when combined with fibers that offer high absorption, typically multiple layers of microfiber polyester.
However the desire for natural and anti-microbial materials like cotton are high, and research is showing promising results that waste materials like banana and areca fibers also have high absorption rates, however innovation is needed in streamlining a way to get this food and tobacco waste into fibers as for the moment it appears too labor intensive to be commercially feasible.
